No Deal Statment

September 3rd 2019

I do not believe it is wise to take ‘No Deal’ off the table at present. That is not because I want to leave the EU without a Brexit Deal, but because I do want an agreement. We must learn from the last time that we tried to reach a deal with the EU; taking ‘No Deal’ off the table would mean that we have no position to negotiate from. I still believe that the Government may be able to bring a Deal to the House, which could be carried and deliver on Brexit. I fear that if we take ‘No Deal’ off the table, at this stage, then the mandate that was given to Parliament by the people will not be delivered.
