Civic Voice design Awards 2016 – Special Mention for Scenic Railway

North Thanet`s MP, Sir Roger Gale, has congratulated Guy Holloway and the team behind the restoration of Dreamland`s Scenic Railway on being singled out for a special mention at the Civic Voice Design Awards ceremony held at the House of Commons this (Tuesday) evening.

“There are those who will feel that the whole restoration of the Dreamland Leisure Centre and Amusement Park has been something of a roller coaster ride” says Sir Roger “but this recognition is a timely reminder of the hard work and commitment that has been invested in Dreamland by English Heritage, The Dreamland Trust and, of course, by the Park`s operators, Sands Heritage.

The Scenic Railway is at last the centrepiece of the amusement park and, as the Civic Voice Design Awards judges have said, `is vital to the regeneration of Margate`. We are at the stage where we have a project that we can be proud of and that is very much open for business on fine days and, with the completion of work on the interior, on days when the weather is less kind as well.

With recently acquired vintage rides and, hopefully, some sunshine Margate is looking forward to a really great season.at Dreamland”.
