Freedom of Information Act

February 10th 2016

In response to an electronically-generated “round-robin” quoting “reports in The Times and the Telegraph” about the Freedom of Information Act Sir Roger Gale has said:

“No Act of Parliament suits everybody but I believe that, taken in the round, the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act are, as it stands, satisfactory. I recognise that there atre those who would like to dilute the provisions of the legislation as there are those who would like to strengthen them but I see no justification for spending yet more parliamentary time upon a contentiouis measure that is, broadly speaking, doing the job that it was intended to do”.
